We've changed our name
Inverness Medical UK Ltd. has changed its name to Alere™ Ltd.
Inverness Medical has for many years been a global leader in the medical diagnostics sector and is ranked amongst the UK’s top 5 diagnostics companies. Specialising in the areas of cardiovascular disease, infectious disease, women's health, pre-natal care, drugs of abuse and oncology, we own many leading healthcare brands such as Binax®, Biosite®, Determine® and Clearview®.
We have grown rapidly in the last few years, acquiring a number of companies and adding new products, technologies and health management capabilities to our comprehensive portfolio. With an extensive range of easy-to-use rapid diagnostics and health screening services we support healthcare providers by allowing diagnostic testing to be performed close to the patient - in the clinic, community or hospital.
In order to make it easier for customers to identify the depth and breadth of our extensive range we have decided to re-brand our business and most of our products and services under a unified, easily recognisable name. Alere, which means to nurture, care for or support, was chosen to reflect our focus on delivering preventative, people-centred and productive healthcare resources that meet the changing needs of today's NHS.
