Copper

Copper is a trace metal and essential micronutrient.  It is a component of some enzymes and also functions as a co-factor for others.  Measurement of copper is most commonly performed for the following purposes:

1.     to screen for Wilson’s Disease

2.     to monitor parenteral or enteral nutrition

3.     for the diagnosis of copper toxicity

4.     for the diagnosis of Menke’s Syndrome

 

This reagent is for the In Vitro determination of Copper in serum and plasma (heparin).  Instrument applications are available on request as are instrument specific reagent packs.

The reagent is liquid stable. 

 

A wide range of QC material is available from Alere for use with the Copper assay, ranging from General Chemistry QC to speciality Trace Element QC for Whole Blood, Serum and Urine.
