The immunological Actim Pancreatitis urine dipstick test is an up-to-date method for ensuring the right diagnosis for your patient – quickly and reliably.
Actim Pancreatitis uses a novel analyte, trypsinogen-2, for screening acute pancreatitis. It is the most accurate analyte available for both detecting and ruling out acute pancreatitis.
The acute inflammatory process of the pancreas, acute pancreatitis, can often be treated successfully if diagnosed early. As abdominal pain can have numerous causes, in addition to diagnosing acute pancreatitis, you should also be able to rule it out. Unfortunately the traditional detection methods with amylase or lipase measurement are neither specific nor sensitive enough.
Compared to other methods, the Actim Pancreatitis test can be performed on the spot while treating the patient with acute abdominal pain. Traditional amylase and lipase tests are usually performed with analyzers in a laboratory, and thus take considerably longer. With Actim Pancreatitis, a simple urine sample is enough. The test allows doctors to concentrate on alternative diagnosis as acute pancreatitis can be ruled out quickly and accurately.
