CytoCount Beads

The CE-Marked Dako CytoCount™ beads are ideal for use in single platform analysis and can be individually tailored to suit the user’s protocol and choice of absolute leucocyte counts.

The key properties of the CE-Marked Dako CytoCount beads are that they are compatible with single platform analysis as recommended by UK NEQAS for Leucocyte Immunophenotyping, they have a 16 month shelf life and they can be tailored to count your leucocyte population of choice.

We also feel the customer testimonials highlight the quality and performance of the Dako Cytocount beads (see testimonials tab below).

“The Cytocount beads have shown excellent concordance with the median in the NEQAS schemes for enumeration of CD34+ cells and immune monitoring (T and B cell subset analysis). In a trial of 15 patient samples there was good agreement across platforms, BD Calibur vs FC500 for T cell subset analysis. The advantage of Cytocount Beads is that they are visible on screen on a linear scatter plot, forming a discrete easily recognisable population, therefore providing an immediate qualitative assessment of the condition of the beads. We have not encountered any increase in background noise and there is no interference with positively stained populations. This is a good stable preparation of beads with a good fluorescence and scatter profile.”

“An evaluation was undertaken comparing the Dako Cytocount and the Dako complete CD34 count kit from Inverness Medical against two references: the existing bead system used at UK NEQAS and the existing NEQAS consensus data containing over 600 datasets. The performance of the Dako Cytocount and the Dako complete CD34 count kit was comparable to both references within clinically relevant limits. The reproducibility of the Dako Cytocount and the Dako complete CD34 count kit was also consistent with the reference bead system used. The replication within a given sample for both the Dako Cytocount and the Dako complete CD34 count kit was also sound and comparable to the bead system currently in use. The stability of the Dako beads within the sample was also tested and found to more than satisfy the recommended read time of 45minutes.”
