FluoroSpheres
The FluoroSpheres are polystyrene microparticles suited for daily monitoring of the flow cytometer. FluoroSpheres contain a mixture of microparticles of six different fluorescence intensities.
The mixture of fluorochromes used can be excited at any wavelength from 365 to 650 nm. This broad excitation range allows the FlouroSpheres to be used in instruments with UV, and single or dual laser light sources. With assigned molecules of equivalent fluorochrome (MEF) values for the
fluorescent bead populations, the use of FluoroSpheres enables the transformation of arbitrary units of mean fluorescence intensity (MFI) into absolute units for quality assurance and reporting of flow cytometry data.
