Alere is proud to announce that we will be launching the BinaxNOW^® PBP2a Test, a qualitative in vitro immunochromatographic assay for the rapid detection of penicillin-binding protein 2a (PBP2a) in blood cultures positive for S. aureus. A positive result indicates the presence of a resistant strain - MRSA.

This rapid test gives the result in just 30 minutes from blood culture.
