Pastorex® Staph Plus
Pastorex® Staph Plus is a rapid agglutination test for the simultaneous detection of the fibrinogen affinity antigen (clumping factor), protein A, and the capsular polysaccharides of Staphylococcus aureus. The kit includes the control, disposable cards and sticks.
A growing percentage of S. aureus (mainly METHI-R strains) can elude detection in some agglutination tests because cell wall antigens (clumping factor and protein A) are masked. The Pastorex Staph Plus kit incorporates monoclonal antibodies to capsular polysaccharides as well as to cell wall antigens, thus reducing the risk of false negative results.
