The Alere 'One Stop Shop' approach, using our point of care technologies enables healthcare professionals to deliver their NHS Health Checks targets.

 

The Alere Cholestech LDX® has been used successfully by many PCTs, not only in GP practices but also to extend the reach of NHS Health Checks to cover more of the hard to engage groups (carers, mental health patients, prisoners, travellers, homeless, disabled, those with learning disabilities, deaf , BME and those people not registered with a GP).

 

The 'one stop shop' approach reduces multiple clinic visits, and loss to follow up is reduced, ensures more people take preventative action, and ensures immediate management of identified high risk patients, and allows immediate signposting and follow up advice, improving engagement and therefore outcomes.

 

Alere’s point of care technologies enables use of alternative sites for screening in the community setting, allowing commissioning of health checks in pharmacies, shopping areas, faith centres, leisure centres and mobile units. The Alere Cholestech® LDX provides the accurate TC and HDL results, whilst the Afinion™ AS100 Analyser provides the HbA1c results needed for the diabetes filter in the NHS pathway.
