Alere is proud to sponsor the Nursing in Practice Sexual Health award 2009

Designed to recognise different areas of excellence and innovation in primary care nursing practice, the Nursing in Practice 2009 awards attracted a wide range of entries – all with an extremely high standard. The winners were announced at a special ceremony at the Birmingham NEC on 17th November and the sexual health category award went to Danielle Robinson and Louise Willis for their work at the Young Person’s Clinic, Alston.

The service provides general health advice and has
supported a number of young people with emotional and mental health concerns. The clinic has been able to participate in the National Chlamydia Screening programme and there has been very positive feedback from schools and the local community.
