Alere Actim® Partus
Phosphorylated insulin-like growth factor binding protein-1 (phIGFBP-1) is present at very high levels in the cervical secretions from women who are likely to have an imminent delivery but at very low levels in urine and semen.
It is critical to know if a woman is experiencing premature labour so that the healthcare professional can look to initiate the appropriate management of the pregnant woman and her unborn child. Also, once a diagnosis has been given, the woman and her family can plan for and understand the coming events.
The high specificity of phosphorylated insulin-like growth factor binding protein-1 (phIGFBP-1) allows you to confidently identify if a pregnant woman will deliver imminently.
